Adrian frequently shares adorable photos and videos with his 2-year-old daughter Zahra and now he’s opening up to us about what fatherhood means to him.
Check out our full interview with Adrian below!
Bachelor Nation: Hi, Adrian, happy Father’s Day! Thank you so much for chatting with us. What has your life been like since welcoming Zahra into it?
Adrian Hassan: Thank you for having me! It’s been amazing. Fatherhood has its challenges, but it’s very rewarding!
BN: Absolutely! What has surprised you most about being a dad?
AH: The joy I feel has surprised me the most. I didn’t know what to expect, but I find myself filled with so much joy every day.
BN: That is so beautiful. What is your favorite part of fatherhood so far?
AH: My favorite part about fatherhood would be watching my daughter grow to be her own person. Seeing her personality develop is amazing. She’s really funny and makes me laugh a lot lol!
BN: That’s so fun. How would you say fatherhood has changed you?
AH: Fatherhood has changed me in many ways. It has made me grow into a better person. I’m more patient and more understanding than I ever was.
BN: Love that. What milestones are you currently looking forward to with Zahra?
AH: I’m looking forward to seeing her speak in full sentences and learning to ride a bike and teaching her to tie her shoes!
BN: Such sweet ones! What does being a dad mean to you?
AH: Being a dad means everything to me. Being a great dad means the most. I was raised by my mom alone. So I understand the importance of not only being a present father but a present father that does his best to be a great father.
BN: That’s incredible. As a dad, what do you hope to teach your daughter?
AH: I hope to teach my daughter to love herself, self-confidence, to be self-sufficient, respect herself, and to believe in herself no matter what. Love and be kind to others.
BN: Such important lessons. Speaking of, do you have any advice for fellow parents out there?
AH: My best advice would be to have some grace with yourself. This is your first time doing this; have some patience with yourself and no matter what, always remember “You can do this.”
BN: Totally. And last but not least, would you let your daughter watch your Bachelor Nation journey one day when she’s older?
AH: Of course! I don’t regret anything I’ve done and have nothing to hide. I’ll teach my child to be the same way.
BN: Love it, thank you so much for chatting with us, Adrian! Happy Father’s Day!
