Sarah Herron Discusses Parenting Twin Newborns with a Limb Difference: ‘I Have Not Figured It Out Yet’
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation first met Sarah Herron on Season 17 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Seasons 1 and 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
After many highs and lows of her IVF journey, Sarah just shared that she and her husband Dylan Brown have welcomed twin girls.
The Bachelor Nation star took to Instagram to introduce the world to her two little miracles, Evy and Coco, last month.
And last week the family of four was able to head home from the hospital after around a month in the NICU.
Now, Sarah took to her Instagram Stories to answer fan questions about new parenthood.
During the Q&A, one fan asked how it’s going parenting newborn twins with her limb difference.
Sarah opened up, saying, “It’s going fine with one at a time, two at a time I have not figured it out yet… But to be fair, neither has Dylan. In time, we’ll figure out a system for tandem feeding, but I assume I will need assistance getting both of them positioned on me for a long time.”
Another fan asked Sarah why the girls are still receiving oxygen through their noses.
The new mom said, “Since the girls were born at 32 weeks and the lungs are the last organ to develop, their lungs weren’t quite ready for the high elevation air of where we live.”
Sarah went on, saying, “It’s not uncommon for pre-term babies to go home on oxygen where we live. They’re on a very low dose, which is basically to bring the room air to sea level for them. They should be off in a month or so.”
She said it isn’t the way she imagined bringing babies home “trying not to tangle and trip on tubes,” but she is grateful her family is home and healthy.
We couldn’t be happier for Sarah and her entire family as they navigate this exciting new chapter.
We’re wishing them all the best!
