Susie Evans Discusses Keeping Relationship with Justin Glaze ‘More Private’ as They ‘Figure Things Out’
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation stars Susie Evans and Justin Glaze finally announced their relationship earlier this year after a long-standing “are they/aren’t they?” dynamic going on social media.
Then, after around eight months of consistently posting PDA-filled photos and videos, the couple began posting less and fans speculated about their relationship status.
Now, Susie spoke with both Us Weekly and People about her relationship with Justin and why they’ve decided to keep things more private for now.
She told Us Weekly, “You have to figure out the boundaries that you’re comfortable with with the public and there is this pressure to put yourself out there because it’s kind of my livelihood at this point. I realized that it’s better to protect your privacy and your peace than to appease what people want from you.”
Susie shared that she learned in therapy about the importance of “setting boundaries and enforcing them” and how that’s important for her and Justin.
And she opened up to People about why she understands the speculation from fans and fellow Bachelor Nation stars about their relationship now that they’ve decided to set boundaries around their privacy.
Susie said, “I feel like our careers, people are going to have questions. I totally get it. And the [‘Almost Famous’] podcast topic is kind of like hot topics in Bachelor Nation, so I totally get them speculating. It’s really confusing because Justin and I haven’t said anything publicly. So that’s just something I think is bound to happen when you’re in a public relationship.”
She explained that she is intentionally being quiet about the status of their relationship, saying, “At some point it’s important to set boundaries for yourself, for your partner, for your relationship. I think we’ve just kind of been keeping things more private, obviously more private than usual while we figure things out for ourselves, either individually or together.”
