Kaitlyn Bristowe Opens Up About ‘Struggling’ with Social Media and Bachelor Nation Responds
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Kaitlyn Bristowe on Season 19 of “The Bachelor” and Season 11 of “The Bachelorette.”
The former Bachelorette keeps us all updated on her social media pages and podcast, where she has millions of followers.
This week, Kaitlyn took to Instagram to share why social media has actually been causing her some distress recently.
Alongside a series of recent photos and videos, Kaitlyn wrote, “I’ve gotta be honest. I am really struggling with my relationship with social media. I’ve posted once in the last 2 weeks, and my followers drop like crazy. Why does that hurt my feelings? (Silly I know).”
The former Bachelorette went on, saying, “And on the other hand, if I force myself to come up with scheduled content to monetize all the time for growth, it gives me anxiety. It feels like a suck hole. It also takes away precious memories that mean the most while just being IN THE MOMENT.”
She ended her post with her plans for the future when it comes to social media.
Kaitlyn said, “I thought about tossing my phone In the ocean this week because being off it more than usual caused.. spoiler alert… bliss!!! I love you guys so much because I know you just want me to show up authentically. So that’s what I will continue to do. Ok going to go get sand out of places it shouldn’t be. Byeeeee.”
And Kaitlyn isn’t alone — former Bachelor Ben Higgins commented on her post with a similar sentiment.
He said, “I haven’t posted in months, just lean in and let it happen. The real friends stay.”
Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos also commented, writing, “I love this honestly and like this so much more than forced content. Be true to what makes you the awesome person you are and only post when the feeling hits you, not when it has to be scheduled, that’s the person we want to see. Hopefully we won’t see you for a few more weeks, go be happy!”
And fellow former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky Manno added, “Girl, I feel this so much. I feel like I used to have such a genuine connection with people online, but with how this platform has changed it’s made me doubt every single little thing I share. It has nothing to do with the people as much as it has to do with the algorithm, but I feel like it has tremendously affected my confidence and how I share.”
We love how Bachelor Nation is coming together in Kaitlyn’s comments and we are sending them all love.
Kaitlyn’s reminder to sign offline and take time being present in the moment is a good reminder for all of us!
