Madi Prewett Reveals Why She Waited a Week to Tell Husband She’s Pregnant: ‘I Can’t Tell Grant Yet’
So sweet!
Bachelor Nation star Madison Prewett and her husband Grant Troutt recently shared on Instagram that they’re expecting their first baby together, and the response has been filled of love and support from followers, friends, and family.
Since that announcement, the soon-to-be parents opened up even more about their pregnancy journey, how they found out, and how they’re feeling on a new episode of their “Stay True Podcast.”
In the episode, Madi reveals that they had just begun to talk about starting a family when she found out she was pregnant.
“We had just said that we want to start trying, and we said we don’t want to put any pressure on it,” she shared. “We don’t know what this journey is going to look like.”
And Grant revealed earlier in the conversation that Madi waited an entire week to share the news with him after she found out she was expecting.
When sharing why, Madi admitted that after she had taken the tests, she thought, “Oh, my gosh, I’m pregnant. But I can’t tell Grant yet because this is his last week of work!”
With wrapping up his job and not wanting him to feel overwhelmed, Madi decided to play it cool so Grant could focus on finishing his last week. She also planned to surprise him with a cute gift once he was done, which contributed to her waiting.
“I’ll order a really cute little gift to present to him with to tell him that we’re pregnant and that’ll take some days to get in anyways, and so it’s all gonna work out,” she said.
As the episode goes on, both Grant and Madi start laughing as they reflect on that week before he knew. “You were so emotional that week,” Grant said jokingly to Madi, “and I remember [you’d] be like, ‘You’re such a good man and such a good husband,’ and I’m thinking, like, ‘Dude, my wife loves me!’”
Grant then shared when she finally told him and the special moment they spent together. “I opened my eyes and the first thing I see is this wooden frame and it says: ‘We’re having a baby,’” he recalls. “I look down and it’s the pregnancy test… and right next to that is this little baby Jordan shoe, and behind the Jordan shoe is the same type of shoe but in my size.”
Grant went on to say that he felt like he was having an out-of-body experience and couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Madi said he felt a little upset that she waited a week to tell him, but the couple both agreed that it was such a sweet and special moment to share together.
We couldn’t be happier for these two and can’t wait to hear more baby updates. We know they’re going to be amazing parents!
