Carly Waddell Opens Up About Undiagnosed Health Issue: ‘I Finally Have Answers’
Moving forward.
Fans first met Bachelor Nation star Carly Waddell on Season 19 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Seasons 2 and 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
And if you’ve been following Carly's Bachelor Nation journey since the beginning, you know that she’s a very talented singer.
During her time on “The Bachelor,” Carly showed off her singing ability and now has been releasing music of her own.
Over the past year, she’s been opening up online about a health issue she’s been facing that hasn’t been able to get diagnosed but was starting to affect her singing abilities.
Now, Carly has shared a video explaining her experience and updating fans that she recently got some answers on what could be happening.
“Finally went to the ENT after over 20 years of having episodes where my throat seems to completely close up for a good 30 seconds. (Which seems so long when it’s happening),” she wrote in her caption, “Used to happen only a few times a year, but in the past few years it has happened as much as 3 times a day.”
She went on to explain, “Scary not only for me but also for anyone around me when this seems to happen because it looks like they should do the Heimlich maneuver on me while tears stream down my face and I’m gasping to breathe.”
Carly shares in the video that these episodes have been occurring since high school and she’s just now found out what might be the cause.
She revealed, “Finally had a doctor tell me that it seems to be Laryngospasms brought on by my undiagnosed asthma, seasonal allergies, or even acid reflux. And they also happen to women more than men, sometimes more often to women with anxiety they tend to keep ‘hidden away.’”
The Bachelor Nation alum stated that this seems to describe her because she has been experiencing anxiety recently.
“Sounds like me…..especially with some things that I haven’t talked about publicly over this past year or so,” she admitted.
And while she didn’t share what she's going to do now to help heal her health issue, Carly did state how relieved she is to have this new information. “I finally have answers,” she said.
What a relief!
We always love hearing from Carly and are wishing her all the best with her health journey ahead.
