Mark Anderson Spills About Feeling Sparks with Joan Vassos and What He Asked Kelsey Before 'The Golden Bachelorette'
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation met Kelsey Anderson’s dad, Mark Anderson, and the rest of her family during her Hometown date on Season 28 of “The Bachelor.”
Fans instantly fell in love with him and Bachelor Nation fans quickly called for Kelsey’s dad to be cast on “The Golden Bachelorette.”
After officially becoming part of the cast, Mark has been searching for love with Joan Vassos week after week, but he got sent home right before Hometowns.
Now, the Bachelor Nation star has joined the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and is spilling the tea on his experience on “The Golden Bachelorette” and the sparks he felt with Joan.
Since Kelsey had been on “The Bachelor” not long ago, podcast hosts Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile wondered if Mark had chatted with his daughter about the show beforehand.
Mark shared that leading up to starting “The Golden Bachelorette,” he didn’t ask either Kelsey or Joey Graziadei about what to expect from the process so he could experience it fully.
“The most important question that I had asked Kelsey is ‘Do I need to bring towels with me?’...So, you know, that was like my big question for her,” he shared.
Joe then asked Mark if he had felt a spark with Joan on the very first night when he walked out of the limo.
The Bachelor Nation dad shared, “Anytime I talked with Joan, there was a spark because she’s just that kind of person. She’s wonderful, just a beautiful woman inside and out. She’s just fantastic.”
He continued, “She would talk to you, and at first going in, I didn’t know if I was the first person, last person, but when I got up there, it was like it was just her and I. And every time speaking with her, it was just her and I. You never thought about anybody else because she made me the most important person there. It was great.”
Joe then asked about Mark’s first kiss with Joan on the steps outside of the mansion, and whether he felt like he was 16 again at that moment.
Mark replied, “Yeah, it was more like 13 or 14. I was nervous because you get to the point where you don’t really notice the cameras and stuff around you, you just kind of like void it out. And it was easy to do that with Joan because she’s just right there.”
He went on, sharing more about that moment, saying, “And we were just playing a game. I was trying to keep things light… but let her know stuff about me… It was nice. It was fun, it was playful; it felt very natural.”
