Lexi Buchanan Emotionally Remembers Beloved Aunt Who Passed a Week Before Her Wedding
In our thoughts.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Lexi Buchanan on Season 24 of “The Bachelor” while she looked for love with Peter Weber.
She’s been keeping fans updated with her life on social media ever since, and a few years ago took to Instagram to share that she found love off-screen with long-term boyfriend Jon Shugg.
Lexi announced last year that they are engaged and now the two are set to get married next week.
However, this week Lexi took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news that her beloved aunt Lori Falcone unexpectedly passed away.
Alongside a series of photos with Lori, Lexi wrote, “My favorite aunt and best friend. The most gorgeous, hilarious light of our family who brought us constant joy. I’ll never find the words to express all that you mean to me. You’ll always be my favorite person. This is my worst nightmare to be writing this to you a week before my wedding day.”
She continued, “I’ve always thought about Marky not being there, so to lose you this quickly and this close to what’s supposed to be the happiest day of my life is hard to understand.”
Lexi continued got emotional while reflecting on her relationship with her aunt.
She expressed, “I’m working on not being so angry and sad but it’s going to be a while. I’m so sorry you didn’t get to go on your dream trip to Italy that you had planned. I’m dreading our first holiday season without you, and all the ones after that. I’m eternally pissed that my children won’t get to know you or how funny you are. I’m going to miss sending each other weird memes all the time and I miss your laugh already.”
Lexi then shared how she’s going to remember her aunt and how thankful she is for the time they had together.
She said, “I’m not there yet, but I know I have so much to be thankful for. I’m grateful for our special bond and genuine friendship as I’ve gotten older. I’ll cherish you and talk about you every day. I love you and I’m so lucky you’re mine forever, whether you’re physically here or not. Give Marky the biggest hug and kiss. I know you two are back together and smiling down on us.”
We can’t imagine how difficult this must be for Lexi and her family. We are sending all our love and keeping both Lexi and Lori in our thoughts during this difficult time.
