Matt James Directly Confronts Person Who Took His Bike in NYC: ‘Don’t Steal People’s Things’
Sharing a message.
Bachelor Nation got to know Matt James on Season 25 of “The Bachelor,” where he found love with Rachael Kirkconnell.
Since their time on the show, the couple has been keeping fans updated with their lives on social media.
The two often post about their foodie adventures, running marathons, and living in New York City.
However, this week Matt shared a nerve-wracking video on social media of the moment he directly confronted the person who stole his bike while he was running an errand.
In the video, he shares the story of how he briefly left his bike unattended while grabbing a smoothie and came back to realize it had been stolen.
Matt then flagged down a delivery driver and asked him for a ride so he could track down his bike.
He shared, “This is me this morning after my bike had been stolen. I flagged down a delivery driver to help me pursue the individual who had stolen my bike…The bike was unattended for maybe 10 seconds while I ran inside and grabbed a smoothie, but they’re quick in these streets!”
Matt continued the story, sharing how he was able to eventually find his bike and shows the moment he stopped the person who had taken it.
He said, “Luckily I was able to track the ride through my Citi Bike app and cut the person off.” The video then shows Matt stopping the person on his bike in their tracks.
He states, “Don’t take people’s things, don’t take people’s things in New York City. We’re good! Just don’t take people’s things.”
Matt then thanked and paid the delivery driver for his services and rode away on his reclaimed bike, saying, “And just like that, we’re back, you know? No harm, no foul, I got the bike back. I’m not trying to press charges…so, let’s be kind. Let’s not take other people’s things and then we should be good.”
The Bachelor Nation star then ended his video with one last message for his followers. He said, “So have a great rest of the day, New York and if you see a bike unattended, don’t take it.”
We’re so glad everything turned out okay for Matt and echo his message. Please be kind to one another and do not take other people’s belongings.
