Experience the Islands of Tahiti Like Joan Vassos & Her Final Men Did on ‘The Golden Bachelorette’
The Islands of Tahiti are the perfect place to fall in love and get engaged!
Tahiti is a dream destination for so many people and it’s for great reasons. As Joan Vassos said upon her arrival, “Now we’re in paradise! There are mountains that are green, there’s a beautiful ocean. It’s blue in some places, it’s turquoise over here. There are lovely huts. It’s like everywhere you look, it’s more beautiful than where you looked before.” What a picturesque place to fall in love! The Islands of Tahiti are made up of 118 islands in the South Pacific and composed of five different archipelagos. And with so many islands to explore comes plenty of activities, like kayaking, snorkeling, swimming in a waterfall, relaxing on white sandy beaches, hiking, and enjoying a thriving ancestral culture.
During her last few weeks as the Golden Bachelorette, Joan and her final three men — Guy, Chock, and Pascal — traveled to the Islands of Tahiti for their romantic overnight dates and to spend time with Joan’s family. If you and your special someone want to take the romantic trip of a lifetime, check out our recommendations below to experience the Islands of Tahiti like a true Bachelor Nation star!

If you love the ocean and top-tier accommodations, then look no further than Windstar Cruises. Joan sailed aboard the Star Breeze during her time in Moorea and couldn’t get enough of this dream ship. The food is delicious — I think maybe the best latte I’ve ever had… We are just sailing these beautiful oceans in luxury. What better place to make memories!” Windstar Cruises sail to over 60 destinations in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska, and Europe, and provide shore excursions to get to the heart of local culture. Date Ideas: Adventure Awaits!
While Joan and her final three men were on Moorea and Bora Bora, they explored much of what the Islands of Tahiti have to offer. From the beautiful oceans to volcanoes, they saw it all! For her first one-on-one date on the island, Joan invited Guy for a romantic boat ride, where they got to take in the beautiful island from the water. Joan and Guy shared sweet moments while they sailed on the turquoise ocean and snorkeled among the manta rays and tropical fish. For her next one-on-one date, Joan and Chock rode ATVs along the island, followed by a special picnic tucked into the lush green mountains. Talk about an amazing date! And last, Joan and Pascal experienced the thriving ancestral culture, where they got to enjoy a Tahitian Welcoming Ceremony, traditional Tahitian feast, and a special bonding ceremony.
