EXCLUSIVE: Joan Vassos & Chock Chapple Reveal They’re Headed to New York to Look at Housing Properties: ‘We’re Really Excited’
Starting a new chapter!
Bachelor Nation saw Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple get engaged during a beautiful proposal in Tahiti on “After the Final Rose.”
During the finale, we saw Chock give Joan a key on their last date before the proposal, symbolizing his commitment to her and wanting to find a place together in New York City, since that has always been one of Joan’s dreams.
Now, the newly engaged couple stopped by for an exclusive chat with BachelorNation.com to give an update on their plans for the future and new life together.
While reflecting on that touching moment in Tahiti, Chock revealed that he and Joan have decided to leave immediately to go to New York City.
He said, “We leave tomorrow afternoon for New York and we’re gonna be out there for five or six days. And on Monday, Joan has arranged for us to meet with the realtors so we can start looking at properties. And I know, and I’ve told Joan, I’m trainable. I’m just there to get a coffee or anything like that, to shake my head and go, ‘It looks great,’ and let her do her thing.”
Chock also talked more about the moment he gave Joan the key in Tahiti, and how it’s something that he had been wanting to do for a while.
He shared, “It was her gift, but it was also a gift to myself. You know, she said this is something that she’s wanted to do, but I’ve always wanted to do it too. And I think it’s going to be so much fun.”
Joan chimed in and expressed what this next chapter means to her and Chock, and how they’re both feeling about going to New York.
She shared, “We’re dying, we’re so excited to start! You know, that kind of journey it’s an adventure for somebody our age. And how often do you get to do something really kind of big and fun like that at the age of 61? So we’re really excited.”
Joan and Chock also hosted an engagement party for all their friends and family after the finale and admitted that the party wasn’t actually the first time their families had met one another.
Chock said, “They’ve communicated. They’ve had conversations. I have a brother who lives in D.C., and he’s actually met with [Joan’s] two sons, so they’ve already had a couple of lunch meetings. Well, I shouldn’t say meetings, just lunches that they’ve had together, so it’s been going. It was already in process.”
Joan also added that her and Chock’s daughters have quickly created a strong bond with each other and love to hang out.
She said, “And our daughters talk and they have a newfound love of shopping and dirty martinis together, so I think it’s all gonna work out great!”
How exciting!
We are so happy for Joan and Chock and can’t wait to see all their amazing adventures to come. Bachelor Nation is sending many congratulations again on their new life together!
