Andi Dorfman Opens Up About Her Birth Story with Daughter Harper: ‘Quite the Dramatic Scene’

Former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman married her husband Blaine Hart last year in an intimate ceremony in Sorrento, Italy.
Last year, the couple announced on social media that they were expecting their first child together and that it’s a baby girl.
Last month, Andi announced that their daughter Harper had finally arrived, but shortly after, the Bachelor Nation star had to go back to the hospital for a small procedure.
And now, Andi has taken to Instagram to open up about Harper’s birth story, stating that it was “quite the dramatic scene.”
Alongside a sweet photo of her and her daughter in the hospital, she wrote, “Just over a week with my girl and we are on the mend 🙌🏻 Been meaning to share her birth story which was quite the dramatic scene. All in all, it took a total of 28 hours …”
She shared that things started out smoothly, making her and Blaine think it would be a quick labor.
Andi said, “Everything was smooth sailing at first: my water broke, I was dilated, epidural was stellar 💃🏻 and we ordered some dinner expecting baby girl’s arrival within a few hours. Famous last words because 12 hours later and I was still fully dilated but no baby girl.”
Andi revealed that after hours of pushing, Harper was born around 4:30 a.m. and instead of hearing her cry, they discovered there were some complications.
“We were obviously quite panicked but knew she was in good hands,” she stated. “Turns out she was pretty stressed from the labor and forgot to breathe on her way out 🤦🏻♀️ later we found out she had a 2 Apgar score and needed a CPAP and some other medical TLC, but we got to hold her for a few minutes (and name her) before she was off for a quick stint in the NICU where she made lots of nurse friends and got to be reunited with us later in the day!”
Andi finished her post with a note of gratitude for the medical staff as well as a sweet note for her daughter.
She said, “Harper Bell Hart, we love you! If you could keep the scares to a minimum we’d appreciate it, but thank you for capping off a wonderful 2024 for us 🎉 🥂 🎀”
We’re so glad Harper arrived safe and sound, and couldn’t be happier for Andi, Blaine, and their growing family!
