Hakeem Moulton Shares Why He Feels He ‘Owes Everyone an Apology’ and Wants to ‘Be Held Accountable’
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Hakeem Moulton look for love on Season 21 of “The Bachelorette” and he’s kept us updated with his life on social media ever since.
This week, Hakeem took to Instagram to share a recent moment that changed his perspective on life and made him feel like he should apologize to his followers.
In a video captioned “Love y’all,” Hakeem said, “I know I’ve been kind of MIA. I’ve been dealing with some things. My best friend just lost his little brother to sickle cell. It was truly a tragedy and it had me really reflecting on my life and what really matters. I truly feel like what matters in this world is how you make others feel and that mark you leave on people.”
He went on, saying, “I try to be nice to people and I try to be kind to people, but subconsciously, I feel like I’ve been moving with a sense of entitlement. I feel like I owe everyone an apology truthfully; that’s why I wanted to hop on here. I want to use my platform to spread love, kindness, positivity, and show the world how to be a good man. I wanted to hop on and show you guys my love and to let you know that I’ve been reflecting and I honestly want to be a better human being.”
Hakeem also took to his Instagram Stories and said, “I appreciate you guys being so kind, but respectfully, I’m not looking for any sympathy. Just want to be held accountable.”
Many of his fellow Bachelor Nation stars filled the comments of his post with love.
Brett Harris wrote, “Love you dude! Hope you’re alright! Don’t focus on being a good person, or ‘trying’ to be a good person, just be. You are a good person. Don’t over complicate it, just being you is already accomplishing the goals you listed.”
Lexi Young said, “Keep going!! This is such a great first step! Should be proud 👏🏻”
And Spencer Conley added, “Praying for you man!! Love ya!”
We are sending Hakeem our love and keeping him and his friend in our thoughts as they navigate the loss of his brother.
