Zac Clark & Grant Ellis’ Dad Rob Join Together to Support Addiction Recovery: ‘I’m Eternally Grateful’

Helping others.
Bachelor Nation met Zac Clark on Season 16 of “The Bachelorette,” where he shared his struggle with addiction and journey to sobriety with Tayshia Adams on-screen.
Since his time on the show, Zac has continued to share resources for addiction, mental health, and more through his company Release Recovery Addiction Treatment Center.
Zac celebrated 13 years of sobriety last year and is now working with a family member of another Bachelor Nation star — Grant Ellis’ dad, Rob.
Fans got to know and love Rob on Season 29 of “The Bachelor” as we saw him reconnect with Grant and heal together from Rob’s previous struggles with addiction.

This week, Zac took to Instagram to share how he and Rob are currently working together to support others on their recovery journeys.
Reflecting back on the first time his story was discussed while Grant was a contestant on “The Bachelorette,” Rob said, “He mentioned me. They caught him saying ‘My dad was an addict for 30 years, and he lied to me. But he was my superhero.’ He never told me he was going to say that… The first time I saw that was actually on TV.”
Zac then asked Rob if he got sober because Grant was going to be on TV, and he replied that he was already in the process of recovering.
“No, no. I was in rehab. I was getting ready to leave the place,” he shared. “I was getting ready to go into the Salvation Army. You called me and said, ‘I have a foundation. We’re going to look out for you.’”
Zac responded and expressed his support by saying, “Look, man, recovery is all about forgiveness. It’s all about love, it’s all about compassion, and it’s all about taking action. Now you’re working for us at Release Recovery, helping people and paying it forward.”

Rob then shared his gratitude for being able to work at Release Recovery, and his hope for the future.
“I’m eternally grateful and thankful that I had the opportunity, and I hope it just goes further for me,” he said. “I’m hoping I’m able to touch more people and speak about this. Speak about the stigma.”
Zac captioned the post with his gratitude for Rob and all the work that he’s doing to help and support others in their addiction recovery.
He wrote, “There is real world good that comes from reality television. This is proof. I don’t know this guy as ‘Grant’s Dad,’ I know him as Rob and I am honored to be walking the path of recovery with him. Grateful he is part of the Release family. Thank you Rob for sharing your story so openly. I do not know if we meet without a connection to the Bachelor so I am grateful for that too. Keep Going.”
This makes us so happy to hear, and we love seeing Zac and Rob work together to make the world a better place. You two are amazing and we are cheering both of you on!
