Joey Graziadei Reveals How Couples Therapy Has Helped His Relationship with Kelsey Anderson

Bachelor Nation fans saw Kelsey Anderson and Joey Graziadei fall in love and get engaged on Season 28 of “The Bachelor.”
The two have been enjoying their lives together and traveling the world since their time on the show and are starting to plan their wedding.
The couple also loves to keep fans updated with their lives and often share updates online.
Joey and Kelsey have been open in the past about going to couples counseling after getting engaged on the show.
And now, Joey is revealing how the therapy has helped his relationship with Kelsey and sharing the main takeaway he’s learned.
In a video online, he shared, “I feel like one of the things we talked about a lot and we hold still that we really bring into our relationship is the understanding that the way you communicate isn’t the way they communicate.”
Joey continued, explaining, “I think that’s like the biggest thing and that’s on both sides of how you communicate and you receive. Like, I think about both all the time. If I’m expressing and explaining things in a way that she’s going to receive at that moment and vice versa, because we think a lot about, well, who has the stressor, who’s the person that’s upset right now. Well, if they’re the one that’s upset, then you have to be aware of what’s the best way they want to receive information.”
The former Bachelor then shared how he still uses this in his relationship with Kelsey.
He said, “That was probably the first light bulb I had where I think in the past I had maybe conflict or issues and it’s still something I’m actively working on. But I think a big part is realizing who’s actually upset, let’s try to make them feel better first before you start adding how you’re feeling too. Because now you’re upset that they’re upset and it goes down that, I like to call, the spiral.”
