Becca Tilley Reveals Details of Proposing to Hayley Kiyoko and Why it Was a ‘Full Circle Moment’
She said yes!
Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Becca Tilley on Season 19 and Season 20 of “The Bachelor.”
Since her time on the shows, Becca has found love off-screen with her fiancée Hayley Kiyoko, and the two have been going strong for over seven years.
The couple loves to keep fans updated with their lives online and over the summer, they shared that they are officially engaged!
Hayley got down on one knee and popped the question in a gorgeous oceanside proposal while the two were traveling abroad.
And last week, Becca shared that she proposed back to Hayley while on a trip to Kyoto, Japan.
Now, the Bachelor Nation star is revealing details of her proposal to Hayley while answering a fan Q&A on her Instagram Story.
She shared, “I knew I wanted to do it at [Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto]. We went five years ago and Hayley shared with me that on that trip she had a moment where she looked at me and realized she wanted to marry me one day, so it felt like a full-circle moment to do it there.”
Of trying to keep the proposal a surprise, Becca said, “I just had to get creative on how I get her there without it being obvious that I was going to propose.”
Becca then revealed that she reached out to a person she knew who ran a travel agency.
“I had a crazy idea where she would reach out to Hayley and her team for a collab with her travel agency to Japan,” she explained. “We set up a call and I proposed my crazy idea, and she was all in!!! It was go time… The plan was that [the travel agency] would reach out for the collab to go to Japan for Hayley and a plus-one. Plane tickets and a five-night stay at the [Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto] and gave her the dates.”
Becca went on, “Hayley got the email and was like this is a dream come true — our favorite hotel and of course asked me to be her plus one but unfortunately, I had a work trip to London and asked if they could move the dates but OF COURSE they could not! Lol. So I told her to invite someone and I would meet up with them after my work trip. (The work trip did not exist).”
Becca left the rest of the story on a cliffhanger, but we know she made it to Japan and popped the question in a beautiful proposal. Congrats again to the happy couple. We couldn’t be happier for these two!
