Susie Evans’ Sister Gives Birth to Her First Baby While Battling Breast Cancer
Sending love.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Susie Evans on Season 26 of “The Bachelor” and again on Season 10 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since her time on the shows, Susie has been living in L.A. and keeping fans updated with her life online.
This past week, the Bachelor Nation star welcomed her niece into the world and shared a funny video online of meeting her for the first time.
Using an audio that says, “Move, b***h!” Susie showed herself storming into the hospital while on the phone and ignoring her sister before happily rocking her niece in her arms.
Over the video, Susie wrote, “When I get the call my little sister finally had the baby,” and teased, “I promise this is a joke…kind of.”
While keeping things lighthearted online, the family is also dealing with the heartbreaking reality that Susie’s sister, Barbara Evans, is currently battling stage 2 breast cancer.
Her sister has been sharing her experience online and posted an update two weeks before she gave birth.
Barbara talked about having already done three rounds of a slightly less aggressive chemo before going on a three-week break and getting induced at 39 weeks. After taking a break to recover, she’s going “back on the chemo.”
“After that I’m supposed to do nine rounds of [chemo],” she shared. “Then after the nine rounds, talk about mastectomy, or plan a mastectomy. And then I guess go from there. I don’t really know what else from there. All this has changed a million, trillion times. The thing that sucks right now that I feel like is the hardest for me is that I really just want the mastectomy done. I really just want to get this sh*t removed.”
She continued, “I still just feels like a lot at one time. Otherwise, I feel okay. I mean feeling the pregnancy. And I’m also going to my oncologist three times a week right now to get iron infusions. So a lot of doctor’s appointments, a lot of symptoms, a lot of things going on, but it’s hard to watch your body fail when you’ve always been healthy. It’s like a whole different grief that nobody talks about.”
We’re sending all our love to Susie, her sister, and their entire family during this time. We’re so glad Barbara's baby girl arrived healthy and we’re keeping them in our thoughts as she continues her cancer treatments.
