'Bachelor Pad' Couple Holly & Blake Julian Call Newly-Adopted Daughter 'Perfect'
Holly Durst Julian and Blake Julian’s family grew by one!
The new parents adopted a daughter named Poppy in September, and they’re opening up about the experience and what led them to her. On September 24, Holly posted a photo on Instagram of a mug with the words “Mommy Est. 2019” on it and a baby sleeping in a crib in the background. She captioned it, “She is all of our answered prayers! Baby girl, I would wait another 7 years for you!”
Holly shared the meaningful reason why she and Blake named their little girl Poppy. On October 8, she posted a picture of the baby sleeping and wrote, “There is a very old poem that was written during WWI about the barren battlefields and how the only flower that would grow there were the poppy flowers. She is our Poppy that grew on our barren battlefields.”
Her caption continued, “We have welcomed Poppy Marie Julian into our lives a month ago and I’ve never felt a wholeness like this before. She was the missing puzzle piece in my life.”

Holly and Blake got married in 2012 and have struggled to get pregnant ever since. According to Us Weekly magazine, Holly and Blake tried in vitro fertilization, insemination, and surgery on her ovaries. They found a surrogate and, according to the publication, she got pregnant twice. However, the surrogate had a miscarriage at eight weeks each time.
After that, they turned to adoption. Blake and Holly discussed the process with Us Weekly and called the miscarriages “just heartbreaking.” Luckily for the “Bachelor Pad” alums, they found Poppy’s birth mother on Instagram and have reportedly been in communication with her.
Blake and Holly gushed about their little girl and called her “so perfect.” Holly shared, “She’s so healthy and sweet, and it’s just been the greatest thing that’s ever happened to us.”
The pair have quite the Bachelor Nation love story. Holly appeared on Matt Grant’s season of “The Bachelor,” but was sent home after a few weeks. She later got engaged to Michael Stagliano, whose brother Stephen is married to Season 4 Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas. Holly and Michael ended their engagement, but they still managed to win Season 2 of “Bachelor Pad.”
Meanwhile, Blake hoped to win Ashley Hebert’s heart on “The Bachelorette,” but didn’t receive a rose a little over halfway through the season. He and Holly hit it off on “Bachelor Pad,” and the rest is history!
Congratulations on the beautiful addition to the Julian family!
