Hannah Brown Gets Candid About 'Struggling' and Being in 'Uncharted Territory'
Hannah Brown is opening up about some major life transitions and adjustments she’s been making recently.
On Monday night, the former Bachelorette posted a picture of herself sitting on a lifeguard stand on a beach. In her caption, she wrote about what these past few months have been like for her, and how she’s changed so much in the course of just one year.
In true Hannah fashion, she remained extremely transparent, not sugarcoating any of her struggles.
She began, “Honest policy: I’m struggling. Life is so different. Since last August, I’ve been a pageant queen, a bachelor contestant, and the Bachelorette. I’ve been in love with multiple people, I got engaged, I broke off an engagement, and I shared it all with millions of people.”
It continued, “My faith has been questioned by thousands who don’t know my heart, and my transparency with my decisions has labeled me promiscuous. Simultaneously, I’ve become a role model for young women and started bigger conversations around faith, and sex.”

Hannah also wrote about how she’s living on her own for the first time (she recently moved to Los Angeles) and how much of a big change that has been for her. “I miss my friends and family that have watched my life explode. I feel guilty because I don’t have the time or emotional capacity to fill each of them in on my life right now. I can’t keep up with the people that matter most, because I can barely keep up with my own life right now,” she wrote.
In terms of how much she’s grown as a person, the former Miss Alabama USA said the old her would be “shocked” about her transformation.
“However it’s uncharted territory for me, and it’s been hard to really process what the heck is going on. // Maybe I needed write this out to remind myself I’m human and it’s okay to be overwhelmed,” she continued.
Hannah encouraged her followers to follow their strengths but to know it’s also acceptable to ask for help when you need it.
Her post concluded, “So yeah, I’m not going to struggle to disguise my weakness— I’m just gonna give over the keys to my main man Jesus and let him bless me through this ride.”
Throughout the entire process and even after her time on “The Bachelorette,” Hannah has opened up about the criticism she’s faced and the emotional roller coaster of it all. A few days after the finale, she described her time on the show as “the hardest yet most fulfilling of my life.”
She asserted, “I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs and as painful as it has been at times, I wouldn’t change it one bit. Did I make choices that hurt my heart? Absolutely. Have I become stronger through that hurt? You bet.”
Hannah added, “I realized how strong of a woman I am, and how resilient I can be. My love story might not have been the one I would have initially written for myself; however, falling more in love with the woman I am at the end of this journey is something I’ll always look back on fondly.”
We’ve always known Hannah to keep it real, and we’re so glad that she does.
