Why Desiree Hartsock Siegfried Is ‘Working on Focusing on Myself’ After ‘Baby Rut’
Desiree Hartsock Siegfried is ready to focus on herself.
The Season 9 Bachelorette posted a photo Friday alongside her husband Chris Siegfried, and wrote in her caption about why she “needed a little inspiration today.” She explained, “I’m finally feeling like I’m getting out of the baby rut with Zander where getting ready used to feel like a chore and not something I would enjoy.”
Her caption continued, “Now I’m loving all the Fall finds and working on focusing on myself a little more- inside and out! As moms we put our family first but it sure does feel good to do something for momma every once in awhile.”
Desiree explained that the picture was older “because I’m no where near this ready today,” and added, “oh the irony.”
She urged her followers to “go out there and enjoy the weekend!”

On October 2, Desiree posted a photo of herself and Chris on Instagram, revealing that she felt like she was “in survival mode” since giving birth to Zander on January 12. She captioned her photo, “I haven’t been more excited for a date night than tonight because since having Zander we have just been in survival mode, juggling a move, new baby, new work ventures and parenting.”
The rest of her caption read, “And in the busyness we haven’t been able to schedule a routine date night each week - but that changes today! It’s soooo important to carve out that time each week for one another and to be reminded of the butterflies, the chemistry and the bond we have, not just as parents, but as a union, strong in love.”
The wedding dress designer gave birth to Zander at home, and she opened up to Us Weekly about the “great experience.” The mom of two told the magazine she and Chris “got to watch the sunrise from our bedroom while he was being delivered.” She said the home delivery “went really well.”
Desiree’s eponymous wedding dress company is thriving. She has pop-up shops in a number of cities and also presented dresses at the New York bridal market, which is part of The Knot Couture Show.
Now, it’s time to follow Desiree’s advice and “go out and enjoy the weekend!”
