On Monday evening, Tayshia answered fans on an Instagram Q&A, covering everything from her “weird habit” to her skin care routine. Tayshia said she’s gotten “a lot” of questions about the breakup, so she took the time to provide a thorough response.

She began, “Honestly, it’s been hard. Not gonna lie, it has not been easy. A breakup is a breakup.”

Tayshia explained she feels thankful because she has “amazing friends and family.” She continued, “The only thing I have control over is myself, so that’s what I’ve been working on right now. I’m just doing what makes me happy and staying occupied with boxing, working, and hanging out with my friends and family.”

The 29-year-old said she “care[s] a lot about John,” but feels like “time is what we need right now.”

She ended with, “Everything works itself out.”

Tayshia announced their breakup in an Instagram post October 30. She said she felt the need to talk about it publicly — despite preferring to “keep my personal life private” — because so many people had “watched and been a part of our journey from the beginning.”

She wrote, “John and I had something incredibly special. We fell for each other in Paradise, and everything was a whirlwind after that. When the show ended, I truly went back to Maryland to see if what we had was something we could build on without cameras, a production crew, and without feeling any pressure: to simply figure things out on our own terms.”

Tayshia explained that being in a long-distance relationship and “working insane schedules” contributed to making it feel “impossible to see each other and build a life with each other.”

Her note concluded, “We truly did the best we could, but at this time have decided that what is best for the both of us is to go our separate ways. We are the best of friends and will continue to remain in each other’s life because regardless of the situation, we make each other happy.”

Tayshia and JPJ had one of the most talked-about relationships on “Bachelor in Paradise” this year. They broke up and got back together a few times over the course of the season, and they ultimately left the beach apart rather than as a couple.

During the “Paradise” Reunion show, Tayshia revealed that, in a “bold” move, she flew to Maryland to ask John for a second chance, which he accepted. Tayshia told “Entertainment Tonight” that she had doubts after breaking up with him before the Fantasy Suites. She said, “I felt like I made a really big mistake letting someone go that genuinely cared about me.” However, she “also knew that my heart wasn’t there, so I didn’t want to lead him on.”
