Tayshia Adams and John Paul Jones Break Up
Tayshia Paul Jones/TayPJ is no more.
Tayshia Adams announced on Instagram that she and John Paul Jones decided to “go our separate ways” after a few months of dating. She wrote in her caption that she prefers to “keep my personal life private,” but she wanted to share the news with fans and those who have been following their whirlwind “Bachelor in Paradise” romance. She wrote, “Therefore to stay true to that, I need to be open and honest with you in order to heal and move on.”
Tayshia’s note continued, “John and I had something incredibly special. We fell for each other in Paradise, and everything was a whirlwind after that. When the show ended, I truly went back to Maryland to see if what we had was something we could build on without cameras, a production crew, and without feeling any pressure: to simply figure things out on our own terms.”
According to her caption, distance was a huge reason for their split. “We were living on opposite coasts, and working insane schedules that made it impossible to see each other and build a life with each other,” she wrote. “We truly did the best we could, but at this time have decided that what is best for the both of us is to go our separate ways.”

The 29-year-old affirmed that she and JPJ “are the best of friends and will continue to remain in each other’s life because regardless of the situation, we make each other happy.”
The couple met and had quite the talked-about romance on Season 6 of “Paradise.” They were the couple that no one saw coming, but parted ways before the Fantasy Suites. His adoration took center stage a number of time throughout the season, including at Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone’s wedding when he got into a fight with Derek Peth and yelled those now-infamous words, “Don’t insult my intelligence, Derek!” John Paul Jones also surprised Tayshia with a “Paradise” Prom because she never went to her own in high school.
During the “Paradise” Reunion, Tayshia revealed that she flew to Maryland to ask for a second chance. Tayshia told “Entertainment Tonight” before announcing their reunion, “I felt like I made a really big mistake letting someone go that genuinely cared about me.”

John Paul Jones moved to Los Angeles earlier this month in order to be closer to Tayshia. On October 7, he posted a photo of them at brunch and captioned it, “Brunch with Taytay>>everything else.”
Tayshia perhaps hinted at their split in an October 20 Instagram post. She said in her caption that she’s been “riding this roller coaster that has had its ups (incredible), as well as its downs (okay this sucks, get me off the ride now!)”
She wrote later in the caption, “Despite being on a tv show, I am a very private person that values my faith, family, and friends more than anything. No matter what opportunities come my way, I will always be true to who I am.”
