Desiree Hartsock wished her husband a happy birthday on Instagram as he turned 34 on December 12. The Season 9 Bachelorette posted a photo of Chris looking dapper in a suit on their wedding day. She captioned it, “Happiest of birthdays to the sweetest (& sexiest) man who continues to steal my heart. We love you so!”

In another post on her Instagram Story, Des wrote, “Happy birthday to my bestest friend, my rock, the sweetest father to our babies, my other half— my stud muffin of a husband!”

Chris also shared a birthday post of his own. He uploaded a slideshow of photos that included ones of him and Desiree, their kids Asher and Zander, and the whole family. Just like Des captioned her photo as a tribute to Chris, he, too, dedicated the series of photos to his wife.

“We’ve come a long way from celebrating birthdays over wine and no bed times to figuring out to drink wine after bed time (kids). But, I wouldn’t change any of it,” the birthday boy wrote. “Thanks @desireesiegfried for being an awesome wife and mamma. (Objects in pictures are older than they appear).”

Des traveled to Texas with her son Zander, where she ran pop-up shops in Dallas and Austin for her wedding dress company, Desiree Hartsock Bridal. The family reunited for a little getaway in San Antonio.

The “Bachelorette” couple is nearing another major milestone in their relationship: their five-year wedding anniversary. They tied the knot on January 18, 2015, in Palos Verdes, California, and Desiree wore a dress that she designed herself.

Over the years, Desiree hasn’t been afraid to keep it real when it comes to juggling her many, many responsibilities. In November, she shared how she and Chris “don’t date or take time for just us as often as we probably should.”

She added, “Needless to say since implementing a more weekly date night we’re able to connect more, talk about things other than how many poops the baby had in a day or who’s picking Asher up from school.” Desiree explained she feels “giddy and excited for moments of bonding” with Chris.

On Wednesday, Desiree posted a photo on Instagram that showed another side of family bonding: Asher snuggling with his dad. The picture shows Chris’ head in Asher’s lap, and she captioned it, “Snapshot of a boy who loves his daddy. 💙 took this the morning before I left & I miss them so much. Probably the lowest quality photo ever but with the largest impact on my heart.”
