Peter Weber Calls Last Days of the Show the 'Hardest Week of My Life'
Peter Weber isn’t sugarcoating some of the tougher moments of his time on “The Bachelor.”
A teaser for the rest of the season shows Chris Harrison spilling some big news to Peter during what looks like the final rose ceremony. “Before you do what you’re about to do, there is something you should know,” he tells the Bachelor. “There’s something I just found out — all of us just found out. I’m not sure how this all ends, so I just wanted to give you a heads-up.”
Peter tells producers while lying on a bed that the news was “the last thing I needed to hear.”
In a voiceover of a clip that shows him holding an engagement ring, Peter says, “When I love someone, I don’t care how hard it looks. I will never surrender, because I do believe that love conquers all.”
Peter discussed this season — especially this dramatic moment — with journalists at the 2020 Winter Television Critics Association panel. In an interview with Glamour, Peter assured the publication that the moment was not dramatized.
He said, “I keep telling people that last week was the hardest week of my life, and it didn’t stop until the very end… It’s not overproduced at all. I promise you.”
The pilot also admitted what happened on his season “was a lot harder” than getting blindsided by Hannah Brown at the rose ceremony in Greece.
At the end of the trailer for the season, Peter’s mom Barbara cries to him, “Don’t let her go. Don’t let her go. Bring her home to us.”
Peter discussed that moment, telling Glamour, “There’s a lot of stuff that transpires to get my mom to that point. Obviously, she’s very emotional in that moment, and my mom has my best interest at heart, and it was a very, very emotional day. I guess you guys can kind of surmise when that will be, at what part of the journey, but it was tough.”
Hannah made two separate appearances during the three-hour season premiere, the first of which was “a complete shock” for Peter. They reunited once again during the second group date of the season when she hosted the date for the women to share sex stories. Peter and Hannah had a tearful, emotional discussion about their relationship and Peter asked her straightforward questions about decisions she made on her season of “The Bachelorette.”
He explained to Glamour, “I asked her questions I didn’t know the answers to, so if she never would have come back, I wouldn’t have known the answers. You’ll see what happens going forward, but I feel like everything happened for a reason, and I’m not mad the way it happened.”
Though Peter can’t share any specifics about his current relationship status, he confirmed to the publication that he is, in fact, “happy.”
He said, “I couldn’t have expected it to work the way it did, but I’m happy with where I’m at right now.”
