The two women knew each other before the show because Alayah won Miss Texas USA 2019 and Victoria was crowned Miss Louisiana USA 2019. Over the course of the season, tensions flared between the other women and Alayah, and Peter ultimately sent her home (twice) after hearing their concerns — from Victoria in particular.

Victoria told Peter at a pool party that she and Alayah knew each other beforehand. "I had probably spent three hours collectively with her, even at Miss USA," she said,

Alayah spoke with Rachel Lindsay on "Bachelor Happy Hour" after "Women Tell All" and explained where she stands with Victoria now. Rachel asked if Alayah and Victoria knew each other "for longer than three hours," and Alayah confirmed the fact.

The Texas native told Rachel she was "taken aback" after seeing Victoria and Peter's conversation about her. "I wasn't expecting that," she said.

Alayah shared, "It was hard. I did expect us to have each other’s backs, but I understand when you’re asked a question and you have a feeling, you’re going to express that. I just feel like it was a lack of communication going into that, and I wish we would’ve had a chance to talk about it before Peter asked about it, but we didn’t and that’s unfortunate."

She explained that she and Victoria "respect each other" despite what occurred on the show. Alayah expressed, "We understand we didn’t communicate enough through this and we want to move past it. We don’t want it to define us or the group of friends we’re in. We just want to have a mutual respect for each other as people."

When Victoria spoke with Rachel on "Bachelor Happy Hour," she, too, admitted that she and Alayah went to Las Vegas together. She admitted, "I had fun in Vegas... No we did not room together. There is picture evidence. No shame that we knew each other. I verbalized that to Peter. We weren’t close."

Aside from her friendship with Victoria, Alayah also wanted to clarify that she did have a job — three of them. This big question came into play during a cocktail party when Sydney asked Alayah if she worked. Alayah quipped to Rachel, "I’m an orthodontic assistant, I model professionally, and I own a boutique." She runs the store with her mom and her sister.
