Hannah Ann Opens Up About Her Peter Weber Breakup After 'Bachelor' Finale
The "Bachelor" Season 24 finale did not lack in shocking and emotional moments.
Peter Weber proposed to Hannah Ann, calling her his "true love" and wanting to "choose her every day." However, their engagement came to an end a few months later during a candid and tearful conversation in Los Angeles after Peter admitted he couldn't give Hannah Ann his "full heart."
Hannah Ann made "Bachelor Happy Hour" her first stop after the powerful season finale and opened up to Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin about her engagement and how she's feeling post-breakup. No one understands what Hannah Ann is going through like Becca, so the two women related to each other about ending relationships on one of their "happy couples weekends."
As the Knoxville, Tennessee, native mentioned in her conversation with Peter, she reiterated the fact that she wished Peter had been more upfront with her about his feelings for Madison.
"My instincts were telling me I wasn’t getting all the information I needed from Peter," Hannah Ann shared with the podcast co-hosts. "He told me on our last date he was going to make a decision that was for the best of us. When you’re with someone, you trust their word. But he conveniently left out some important information."
According to Hannah Ann, she believed their relationship took a turn once the season premiered in early January. She explained, "We were looking into moving in together, looking at apartments. We were serious. When the season started, I started to feel his hesitation, and that didn’t sit well with me. He was giving me these words of affirmation to keep me there."
He and Hannah Ann went a full month without seeing each other before their split, and Peter "blamed a lot of that on how he was struggling."
The 23-year-old said later, "I was miserable with him. Once the season started, he was so wishy-washy. I don’t want to be with someone just because his mom told him to."
Peter expressed remorse and regret during their breakup as well as his onstage conversation with Hannah Ann. For instance, he told Hannah Ann, "I’ve been honest with you about everything. I have no doubt that I’ve fallen in love with you and I love you. There’s no doubt about that. For so many reasons, I’m just struggling. It just kills me to put you through this and see you give everything and have me be where I’m at. I hate that."
Peter explained he "never planned on giving my heart to two people," and he thanked her for staying by his side throughout the entire process. "I want so badly to be able to give you everything, give you my entire heart," he said during their separation. "That’s everything you deserve but I can’t do that. I’m so sorry."
When they spoke onstage at "After the Final Rose" for the first time since their split, Peter said, "It kills me so much to know what I took away from you. It’s something I have to live with and it’s something I wish I could give back to you. I never felt a love in my entire life like the love you showed me."
Hannah Ann told Rachel and Becca that watching this season helped her "get through unresolved issues" she had with the Bachelor.
She asserted, "I know I deserve more than someone half-loving me. I need someone who is going to give me 100 percent."
