Holly Durst Julian is getting candid about the struggles she faced before she and husband Blake Julian adopted their daughter, Poppy.
Holly posted an adorable candid photo of herself and Poppy smiling on Instagram. Although they both looked elated in the picture, there was a time when Holly struggled greatly with depression. She wrote on Instagram, "I’ve never experienced a love like this. God perfectly placed her in my life at just the right time. A lot of people don’t know this but I was deeply depressed last Spring and Summer."
She continued, "I isolated myself from everyone as much as I could. I slept and cried a lot. I put on a happy face but I didn’t feel I had a purpose anymore. Poppy, you saved my life and I love you more than you’ll ever know!"

Holly revealed in another Instagram post that the gym became a "place of comfort in hard times," especially during her struggles to conceive. She shared, "I started there when I was going through infertility treatments. I noticed the days I worked out were the days I didn’t cry from all the hormone injections. So it became my way to cope. I’m thankful for the strength it gave me in both ways."
March was an especially big month for the Julian family. On March 16, Holly announced on social media that Poppy's adoption became official — the same day she turned 6 months old!
Holly's Instagram feed is replete with sweet baby selfies and videos that are guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face.
