Sheridan Says He Won’t Be Anybody’s 'Second Choice' After Julia Breakup
There will be no second verse in Sheridan and Julia's love song after "The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart."
Last week on "Listen to Your Heart," Julia and Brandon went on a date after Chris Harrison surprised the group by telling them they’d be mixing up some couples for the day.
Brandon and Julia realized their connection and she ended her relationship with Sheridan upon returning to the mansion. His friends in the mansion tearfully said their goodbyes and even sparked a brief #SheridanforBachelor movement on social media.
Sheridan spoke with "Entertainment Tonight" recently about the breakup and how he feels after watching it back. According to the site, Sheridan was "open" to possibly rekindling his relationship with Julia, but he no longer feels that way due to a lack of trust.
"For me, it's a no," he said. "I cannot see it happening."
Sheridan believes "relationships are built on trust and communication," but he acknowledged that with Julia, "trust, to an extent, has been broken."
He echoed Savannah's sentiments when Brandon confronted her about his feelings for Julia, saying she refused to be "anybody's second choice."
Sheridan said, "I feel like considering it again would be being okay being second choice, and I'm not going to do that to myself."
He admitted watching the episode on television "was definitely hard," and he's adamant about "not going to be somebody's second choice."
The Austin-based musician revealed Julia reached out to him after the show and tried clarifying he was never meant to be a "second choice," but Sheridan disagreed with that viewpoint.
In an episode of "Bachelor Happy Hour," Julia expressed remorse to Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin about how she handled the breakup and situation with Brandon as a whole.
She said, "I hope [Sheridan] hears this, because I absolutely regret not choosing him. I think the stakes were so high. In addition to being there to find love, we were all dreamers that were there to achieve a dream. I think when I heard you have to couple up, I honestly panicked."
Julia added later on in the podcast, "Quite frankly, my heart and I have lost sleep over this. Had Sheridan and I stayed together through it, we could’ve taken it all the way. I do believe that."
Neither Julia nor Sheridan is on "Listen to Your Heart" anymore, be sure to tune in to tonight's episode to see how the final four couples fare!
"Listen to Your Heart" airs at 8 p.m. on ABC.
