Rachel Lindsay & Becca Kufrin Are Ready to Pass the 'Bachelorette Bible' to Clare
Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin are prepared to pass the proverbial torch to Clare Crawley before she begins filming her season of "The Bachelorette." This torch, however, lives in the form of something known as the "Bachelorette Bible."
Rachel and Becca revealed its existence on part two of their "Bachelor Happy Hour" interview with Clare. Becca recently "did some digging through some boxes in my apartment" and stumbled across the "Bachelorette Bible," which she said Kaitlyn Bristowe, JoJo Fletcher, and Rachel made for her season.
The podcast co-hosts then shared their own tidbits of advice with Clare about how to handle being the Bachelorette and the most important things to focus on, such as taking time for herself.
Rachel began, "I remember the first night — this night is just so exciting. Clare, you have no idea. I could cry talking about the first night because I know that joy you’re going to feel getting ready and knowing that however many men come, they are there for you. Right reasons, wrong reasons, forget it. It’s your season, you’re in charge. They came to be a part of your journey."
She continued, "That first night they come up in the limo, you’re standing there, Chris leaves you, and I remember meeting the guys. I had gone through all of them, and I was like, 'This is it? Where are the rest of them?' Not because they were bad guys, because overall I loved the group of men I had. It just happened so fast."
Rachel recalled a producer asking if anyone in particular stood out, but she "couldn’t name any favorites."
She shared, "I remember a producer said to me, 'Give it time and be open, because there really are some great men.' That was the best advice I could get, because after the limo entrances, I was talking to the men — it was amazing. After that, I was like, 'I like this one, this one, this one, and this one.' If I could give you advice, it’s that you think you know, but you have no idea. Truly be open to everybody that comes through because you will be beautifully surprised by the men you meet on your season."
Becca echoed much of what Rachel advised, telling her the first night will "go by incredibly fast."
She expressed, "You have so much to look forward to. There will be no other time in your life where you will meet this many guys at once all vying for you and your attention. I first felt awkward, like, 'I don't deserve it. I'm not worthy.' It was very weird, because you want to be humble, you want to stay grounded, but damn, these 28 men are here for me. Especially Night 1, soak that in. Revel in that."
Becca also encouraged Clare to give everyone a chance, even the men who she might have written off early on.
"You will always be surprised. There’s going to be a moment in time where your brain will click to somebody else and you’re like, 'I didn’t see that in this man in the beginning, and I’m really pleasantly surprised,'" Becca said. "He might not be the one, but there's something so powerful in exhausting each and every relationship until the very end."
Additionally, the Season 14 Bachelorette implored Clare to "take time for yourself." She conveyed, "You need that alone time to really think on your own. Utilize that whenever you can. It’s going to be really important for your sanity."
Clare appreciated every bit of advice Becca and Rachel offered up. On both parts of the podcast, Clare spoke about the type of Bachelorette she wants to be and how she wants to use her platform to encourage others to focus on "self-love" and empowerment.
She said in her interview, "I laugh at people when they say, 'I can’t believe you’re 39 and single! You’re desperate,' or this or that. The best piece of advice I can say is I personally would rather be spending 20 years with the man of my dreams being wholly loved for who I am rather than 50, 60 years with the wrong man."
