Wells and Sarah rang in their one-year engagement anniversary July 7 and commemorated the day with sweet tributes on social media. The beloved “Bachelor in Paradise” bartender posted photos from his proposal and captioned them, "A year ago today I asked my best friend to marry me. Best decision of my life. Happy engagement anniversary @sarahhyland, I love you +1 anything you say."

Sarah also shared pictures from their big day, writing, "One year engaged to my best friend. So grateful to be quarantined with the love of my life 🥰 One day we’ll get married, but for now, I’ll take eating junk food and Netflix all day every day 😂 I love you to Pluto and back baby."

In October, the couple celebrated with friends and family at an engagement party in Los Angeles. The gathering included stunning floral designs, a prosecco bar, custom cocktails, and so much more.

As for their wedding day, Wells and Sarah told Chris Harrison on an episode of "The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever!" that their plans are "on hold" for the time being due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Wells and Sarah’s romance began with a virtual meet-cute. Already an avid "Bachelorette" fan, Sarah cheered for Wells on JoJo Fletcher’s season and appreciated the fact that he made several "Harry Potter" references. The Twitter flirtations turned to DMs, which morphed into a long-distance relationship, and ultimately reached a new stage when Wells made the move to Los Angeles to be with Sarah.

They’re hardly shy about showing their love for each other on social media, too. Whether it’s lovey-dovey posts about the other or jocular tributes, there’s no denying these two are filled with affection.

In March, Sarah captioned a candid picture of them laughing, which read: "Appreciation post for my future husband. There’s no one that makes me laugh like you do. Thank you for being my light in a very dark time."

In December 2018, the "Modern Family" star delved into more details about her relationship with Wells in a Self magazine cover story. They met just days before her kidney transplant and they were "FaceTiming the entire time" she was in the hospital.

She told the magazine, "He's seen me at my worst. He was there through all of that. I think that's why I feel the most beautiful in his eyes, because he still finds me beautiful after seeing all that.”
