Remember When Kasey Kahl Got a Tattoo for Ali Fedotowsky on 'The Bachelorette'?
Love can be expressed in all types of ways, some more permanent than others.
Kasey Kahl is known in Bachelor Nation as the guy who made one of the gutsiest moves on "The Bachelorette." He appeared on Season 6 of the show, vying for Ali Fedotowsky's affection and made it clear from the second he stepped out of the limo that his sole mission was to "guard and protect" her heart.
The Fresno, California, native wore his heart on his sleeve and later doubled down on his promise to "protect" Ali by tattooing a symbol of said mantra on his wrist. Kasey felt emboldened to visit a tattoo shop after his one-on-one date with Ali in New York when they spent the day at the city's famous Natural History Museum.
They spent the day running around the museum pretending to get chased by a Tyrannosaurus rex as well as visiting other animals in the displays. When they sat down for a breather, he said, "Here’s the thing, Ali. I can honestly say that at this point, I choose you. I told you in the very beginning that I’m here to guard and protect your heart."
Ali told him she felt as if he was "reading a story" because it all sounded "too perfect."
Kasey said, "It’s just my heart. Jump in. Stay a while."
Then, he went full a cappella and serenaded her with a song he wrote: "The night that I first saw you, I was staring through black glass / And I knew at that first moment / That you and I would last / On the beach in California / You made me to start to believe / And now we’re in New York City / And it’s just you and me. / If you choose me, Ali / I’ll forever be yours."
Ali thanked him for the song but informed him she felt like "parts of it don't seem genuine to me." She asked Kasey to "just be Kasey for a second."
Kasey listened to her constructive remarks and the next day embarked on a risky adventure to a Manhattan tattoo parlor. He said, "The date was great but then she questioned my sincerity. Today I’m going to prove that I am genuine and I have a huge heart and I’m going to do something I never thought in a million years I’d be doing."
