Look Back at Ali Fedotowsky Calling Out Justin Rego for Having a Girlfriend
Justin "Rated R" Rego arrived at Bachelor Mansion on Night 1 of Ali Fedotowsky's season of "The Bachelorette" with flirty remarks, a sweet smile, and a big secret.
All of that came crashing down in Istanbul, Turkey, when Ali learned Justin allegedly had a girlfriend back home in Canada. Their fiery interaction, which involved Justin walking over plants and getting told off by Ali, is one of the many reasons why Ali's season will be featured on Monday's episode of "The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever!"
Justin did not get along with many of the men in the house and often found himself at the center of arguments with her other suitors. Despite his conflicts, he survived the dreaded two-on-one date in Iceland, which left Kasey Kahl and his new tattoo alone on a glacier. His reckoning came one week later when Ali got a call from Jessie Sulidis, who appeared on Jake Pavelka's season with her, and informed her about Justin's girlfriend.
Ali, heartbroken and angry about the news, went to the guys' room to confront Justin and learn the truth once and for all. She sat down with the men and said, "So, it's been quite the road getting here so far. Justin, I think it's been especially difficult for you because you probably really miss your girlfriend in Canada."
Without responding to her, Justin got up and walked out of the room. Chris Harrison followed him and Justin said, "I got my passport, I got my wallet. That’s all I need."
Ali followed him outside and asked if he wanted to talk, but he said he would only do it off-camera.
"You want to talk off-camera? You're seriously going to go off like this?" she asserted. "This is how you want to be perceived? Justin, talk like a man."
He attempted leaving the hotel a number of different ways. The doors to the restaurant were locked, so he walked through plants and created a maze for himself that only complicated things.
Once they finally sat down to discuss the situation at hand, Justin admitted, "I know you probably want to rip my head off right now, but with me and [alleged girlfriend] Jessica, I have strong feelings for her. She's someone I would say is my best friend. I truly thought I was going into this a hundred percent of my heart. As the weeks and process went by, my heart became less and less into this."
Ali brought up giving him the rose on the two-on-one date in Iceland, and Justin told her he had the rose in his pocket and wanted to give it back to her and instead "give it to someone else."
"I don’t want it back," she said. "Jessica told me you had been planning this from day one. She told me you came here to become famous and then you would be with her. But now you tell me this girl who is your best friend and you care about just lied to me, just threw you under the bus and lied. You think she did that to you? The girl who I just talked to on the phone was bawling her eyes out."
Justin said he "did not come here to get famous," but Ali didn't believe him.
"It's not that simple," he told her.
She responded, "It is that simple. You came here to find a wife. I came here to find a husband, and you're f--king with that. Someone went home the first night that could've been here for me. I gave up my job, I gave up my apartment, I gave up everything to be here. For you to do this, it's awful. It's unspeakable what you've done, not only to me but to her."
