Rachel Lindsay & Bryan Abasolo Mark 1 Year of Marriage: Look Back at Their Love Story
August 24 will be a day that forever stands out to Bryan Abasolo and Rachel Lindsay.
One year ago, this "Bachelorette" couple wed in a romantic ceremony in Cancún, Mexico, in front of family, friends, and a stunning backdrop of the Yucatán Peninsula. Right after exchanging vows, they jetted off to Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens, Greece, for their honeymoon.
Rachel and Bryan's Grecian getaway included hiking, boating, swimming in infinity pools, dining at top restaurants, and romantic meals.
In honor of Rachel and Bryan's one-year wedding anniversary, take a trip down memory lane and look back at their epic love story that all began on Season 13 of "The Bachelorette" in 2017.
Bryan exited the limo third and looked dashing in his gray suit with black lining. After introducing himself, he said in Spanish, "I wanted to tell you that you look spectacular this evening and I cannot wait to get to know you better."
He then asked, "Have you ever dated a Colombian before?"
She said, "No, not Colombian."
Bryan joked, "Oh, girl. You're in trouble — but it's good trouble."
Wasn't that the truth!
Bryan wooed her from that first conversation, evidenced by her offering him the coveted First Impression Rose. From there, their relationship's momentum was fast-tracked until the very end.
"From the moment you walked out of the limo, I felt something that was unexplainable and that I connected with," she told him as she offered him the First Impression Rose. "I don't know if it was because you told me I was going to be in trouble. I don't know if it was because you spoke to me in Spanish, but there was something there."
She handed him the rose, and they shared what would be one of many kisses together.
At one point during the season, Rachel admitted to Bryan she was concerned because he was "so charming," saying, "It scares me because it feels like it's too good to be true."
He reassured her, "Don't let it scare you. It's one thousand percent real. I promise you, whenever you're weak, I'm going to be strong. Whenever I'm weak, I want you to be strong for me."
Bryan added, "My focus is always going to be on you, and that's going to remain."
Fast-forward to Rioja, Spain, and Bryan got down on one knee on a windy day to give Rachel the fairy tale ending she so desired.
She gleefully accepted his proposal and henceforth started their lives together.
Rachel opened up on "Bachelor Happy Hour" in March about the "backlash" she faced for picking Bryan even though she felt confident she made the "right decision" for herself. No matter what criticism has come their way, Bryan has always remained Rachel's biggest cheerleader and vice versa.
Happy anniversary, Rachel and Bryan! Here's to the first of many, many more anniversaries together!
