Rachel Lindsay & Becca Kufrin on What It's Like Dating 30 Men at Once
Being the Bachelorette is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for several reasons, one of them being the opportunity to date 30 people at once. Some may find it intimidating, while others greet the challenge with open arms.
Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin address this phenomenon on a new episode of "Bachelor Happy Hour" and how they prepared for their time as Bachelorette. At the beginning of the episode, Rachel and Becca answered a few fan questions, including how they felt dating 30 men.
Rachel began, saying, "I think it’s bad-ass to say, 'You know what? Whether you’re here for the right or wrong reasons, you’re on my season. This is my season of 'The Bachelorette.' I felt very empowered. I felt very in control. I love being in the driver’s seat. It was invigorating."
She called being the first Black Bachelorette "an honor" and explained she "went into it with that mentality."
Rachel continued, "I also went in with the mentality that I’m open for this, but there’s absolutely no way I’m going to fall for these men. There’s no way they can play matchmaker for me and it’ll work. I psyched myself out about it and I didn’t have high expectations. After the first night I turned to Kaitlyn my producer and I was like, 'Whoa. I think I might be in some trouble. Dare I say I think I might’ve met my husband tonight?'"
Becca, on the other hand, felt "nervous at first" about it.
She shared, "I knew going in some of the guys would be there and hopefully like me, and some would be there to go on this TV show and make a name for themselves. I was very guarded at first where I was like, 'I need to weed out the wrong ones here.'"
Becca explained that after the first night and having conversations with the guys, her confidence increased.
She said, "I remember leaving Night 1 being like, ‘'I’m hopeful for a handful of these guys. I know a lot of them aren’t here for me or into me.' To mentally prepare yourself to date 30 dudes, you stand there and you’re like, 'Let’s make this happen.' It’s funny looking back because it’s such a whirlwind and it goes by so fast. I would relive that again."
