Clare Crawley Answers the Question on Everyone’s Mind: How Did She Blow Up 'The Bachelorette'?
There are certain lines and moments that define each season of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." For Peter Weber, it was Barb crying, "Bring her home to us, Peter!" For Hannah Brown, it was "I have had sex, and Jesus still loves me," and so on.
Now, it’s Clare Crawley’s turn to have her cliffhanger trailer moment. Bachelor Nation has been on the edge of its seat ever since Chris Harrison told a tearful Clare in one teaser, "Congratulations, you’ve just blown up 'The Bachelorette.'"
He also tells her, "The path we’re on right now, it doesn’t end well for you, for the guys, for anybody."
Clare joined Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on a new episode of "Bachelor Happy Hour" and shed some light on what caused Chris Harrison to make such an explosive statement.
Alas, the question remains: How exactly did she blow up "The Bachelorette?"
Clare said on the podcast, "I’ll tell you exactly how I blew up 'The Bachelorette.' I said what I wanted to say. I did what I wanted to do. I followed my heart. I followed my gut. I didn’t let anyone tell me what to do, because I know what’s best for myself."
She continued, "That’s why I can literally look back and say I have no regrets, because I wasn’t talked into or encouraged to do something that I didn’t want to do. I think that goes far in the world of 'The Bachelor,' because in the past, people wonder, 'Did producers make you do this or say that? Did they say this?' Never once did I do something that I didn’t want to do. This was the season to do things my way."
Based on the trailers and the epic season premiere, it’s clear Clare will continue to follow her heart and do it her way.
"The Bachelorette" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
