Clare Crawley Has a Very Relatable Regret from 'The Bachelorette'
Clare Crawley made it perfectly clear on the first night of "The Bachelorette" that she would follow her heart and find love her way. That meant never having remorse or wondering "what if?" about a situation.
The Season 16 Bachelorette chatted with "Daily Pop" co-host Justin Sylvester and initially said she didn't regret "a single thing" she did as Bachelorette.
As it turns out, there might actually be one thing.
Upon further prodding, Clare admitted, "I ate way too many chicken nuggets."
She continued, "I swear to you, I had it for every single meal. I congratulated myself after every single rose ceremony — getting through 12 hours of handing out roses — with chicken nuggets every single day, Justin."
Other than chicken nuggets, Clare remains proud of how she handled herself as Bachelorette. She told Becca Kufrin and Rachel Lindsay on a recent episode of "Bachelor Happy Hour" that she’s content with the decisions she made about who she sent home the first night.
"I chose to do and say the things I did because that’s what felt right in my gut," she said. "Throughout the entire journey, I’ve said it a million times, I might not make the right decisions that other people might make or the best decision somebody else thinks I should make."
Clare responded similarly when Rachel asked how she "blew up 'The Bachelorette.'"
She shared, "I’ll tell you exactly how I blew up 'The Bachelorette.' I said what I wanted to say. I did what I wanted to do. I followed my heart. I followed my gut. I didn’t let anyone tell me what to do, because I know what’s best for myself."
Clare went on, "That’s why I can literally look back and say I have no regrets, because I wasn’t talked into or encouraged to do something that I didn’t want to do. I think that goes far in the world of 'The Bachelor,' because in the past, people wonder, 'Did producers make you do this or say that? Did they say this?' Never once did I do something that I didn’t want to do. This was the season to do things my way."
Be sure to stay up-to-date with Clare's season with new episodes of "The Bachelorette," which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
