This Week in Bachelor Nation History: It's Trista Sutter's Birthday!
Trista Sutter has plenty of reason to celebrate this week. She not only launched her own podcast, but it's also her birthday!
Trista turns 48 on October 28, and knowing the first-ever Bachelorette, she'll celebrate it surrounded by her loving husband Ryan and two kids Maxwell and Blakesley.
On Wednesday, the birthday honoree posted a stunning makeup-free selfie and wrote about getting one year older.
She began, "This is 48. Without a hint of makeup or glam, it may not be the perfect picture (and lets be honest, it isn’t even that with the best hair and makeup! 😜) with grey roots, splotchy skin, thinning hair, a sagging neck, droopy eyes and deeper lines, but it’s mine."

Trista continued, "And today, even though I’m not a fan of adding one more year onto the ticker and dealing with the ailments and all the things that go hand in hand with aging, I’m so thankful to add one more year and keep living this beautiful life. #happybirthdaytome #stayawayhaters #truth #blessed #grateful"
Ryan romantically commented, "Looks like a perfect picture to me!!!"
Ryan typically uses his eloquent and lyrical writing skills by penning a heartfelt tribute to Trista on her big day.
Last year, for instance, he wrote, "Time never stops. It never speeds up. It never slows down. Beat by beat it marches forward, thwarting any attempt to stop it. We are all participants in the synonymous game of life and time."

He added towards the end of his post, "Since the day I met her, my wife has been that person. She grounds me, teaches me, inspires me and has taught me that, though we can’t stop time, we can appreciate every moment of it. Today, on her birthday, my wish for her is the thorough understanding of how grateful I am for her. I know she hates getting older. But I love getting older with her."
Trista was the inaugural Bachelorette, and she's spoken about why she feels "protective" of the franchise.
She explained on "Bachelor Happy Hour" in July, "The show is part of me. It’s my history. It’s the reason that I have my family."
Trista added, "I know people have joked and called me Fairy Godmother and someone even called me grandmother, and I really do take those to heart. Yes, I was there in the beginning, and no, the plan wasn’t for me to around for this long, the show to be around this long, for me to be called the Fairy Godmother, but because this is how things have happened, I take ownership of it. I love it."
Happy birthday, Trista!
