Haley Ferguson Shares Her Tips for Managing a Long-Distance Relationship
Haley Ferguson hasn't seen her boyfriend Oula Palve in four months, but she's making sure the distance doesn't create an emotional divide.
Oula hails from Finland and plays professional hockey in Sweden, and Haley resides in Las Vegas. On Wednesday, Haley shared her tips on Instagram about how she and Oula make their relationship work and thrive despite the ocean between them.
She posted a boomerang and photo on Instagram of herself lying down next to Oula. She began, "4 months apart 💔 I am so thankful that I have a partner who makes communicating a priority."
Haley explained her "number one priority" for any long-distance relationship is to "FaceTime and talk every single day, no matter how busy you are, even if it’s only for 10-15 mins no matter how tedious it might feel sometimes."

She continued, "I’m no expert...🤣 but trust also plays a major role in long distance. So, choose people who choose you."
Haley hasn't been able to see him abroad due to an international travel ban because of COVID-19.

She wrote in June, "Three and half months in quarantine together after only two months of dating...WE MADE IT!🤣🎉 my better half left for Finland today and it’s going to be SO weird waking up without him by my side but I’m so happy he got to meet all my family and friends and that he now gets to go home to see his after 10 months here in the states!"
Oula made his first appearance on Haley's Instagram page January 12, and since then, he's held a steady place in her feed with sweet photos and loving captions about their relationship.

On May 17, for instance, she posted a photo of them kissing and wrote, "Put up with tons of storms to find this rainbow."
