Tayshia Opens Up About Connecting 'Deeply' with Brendan on Their One-on-One Date
Tayshia Adams' time as Bachelorette kicked into high gear on Tuesday’s episode as she finally got to hang out with her suitors on a series of dates.
On her first night, Tayshia instantly connected with Brendan, the handsome blue-eyed turtleneck aficionado. Chris Harrison interrupted their conversation to introduce her to the four new men, but Brendan got his time back and more as he joined Tayshia for her first-ever one-on-one date as Bachelorette.
She spoke with Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on a special "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" and "Bachelor Happy Hour" crossover episode, because one episode simply wasn’t enough to discuss all the details of Tayshia’s debut!
Tayshia and Brendan started off the day horseback riding through La Quinta Resort & Club and then had a profound conversation about their past relationships. Rachel asked her, "What was it about Brendan that had you feeling all those feelings?"

The 30-year-old responded, "We had a long discussion about being married and being divorced. It was the first time I had a conversation with a man that I feel could truly relate to me and understood where my heart and my head have been."
Brendan was apprehensive at first to tell Tayshia that he had been married and divorced in his early 20s, but little did he know how much Tayshia could relate to his story.
She said, "I was the first out of all my friends to get married. Even going through the divorce process was so hard because no one could relate to me. No one knew what I was talking about. No one had any insight into that. I just remember sitting there and having him tell me exactly how he was feeling and how he dealt with it and what that meant for him. I swear to you, he was speaking the words of everything I’ve ever felt."
She added, “We connected very deeply very quickly. Also, he’s super hot. He’s a really good kisser. I just had fun with him. It was a lighthearted, fun date. I was like, 'I can do this. This is fun.'"
Becca inquired what made her want to pick him for the sought-after first date, and Tayshia admitted he "caught my eye" that first night.
Rachel said, "There is something about the first date. There’s an initial attraction that makes you give that person the first date card, but there’s something about them that surprises you that you never expected before. It’s something that carries through throughout your season. No matter who you’re falling for, there’s always the first person you had your date with."
