Tayshia & Joe Reveal They 'Blacked Out' During First Nights at Bachelor Mansion
Tayshia Adams and Joe Amabile took a blurry walk down memory lane on the latest episode of “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation.”
While discussing Friday’s cast announcement for Matt James’ forthcoming season of “The Bachelor,” the podcast hosts shared what they can remember from their first nights at Bachelor Mansion. And, according to the duo, it isn’t much.
“I remember coming out of that limo and I blacked out. I didn’t know what the hell to say. I was like, ‘Hi, I’m Tayshia,’” the current Bachelorette recalled of her first moments with Season 23 Bachelor Colton Underwood. “And no, nothing else came out.”
Joe had a similar experience when introducing himself to Becca Kufrin at the start of “The Bachelorette” Season 14.
“The first night coming out of the limo, I clearly didn’t do well, because I left the first night, which was horrifying,” the Chicago native said with a laugh. “I blacked out. When I went inside, I remember walking inside and going to the bathroom, looking in the mirror, and going, ‘Oh my God, like, I can’t f--king turn back.’”
While she didn’t black out, Tayshia and Joe’s “Click Bait” co-host Natasha Parker — who competed for Peter Weber’s heart on Season 24 of “The Bachelor” — said she vividly remembers just one detail from her limo entrance. “My first thought when I met Peter was like, ‘Tall. Very tall,’” she said. “Like, I did not think that he was that tall at all. He’s really tall.”
Tayshia went on to say that watching the premiere episode of “The Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” can be exciting because “it’s fun to make judgments.” However, she also noted that it’s important to remember how transformative the journey of the show is for its participants.
“People change and grow before your eyes throughout the entire season,” she said. “You think someone is going to be the villain and then they completely change.”
Elsewhere in their discussion, Joe asked Tayshia how she felt during her first night as the Bachelorette after taking over for Season 16’s first leading lady, Clare Crawley.
“Once I saw Chris [Harrison], then I was kind of like, ‘Oh s--t, this is actually happening,’” she said. “I think that was the scariest part and then I walked in the room and everything went away. I’m telling you guys, I was literally floating… I was having the best time.”
