Experience Santa Fe, New Mexico, Like Chris Soules on 'The Bachelor'
Santa Fe consistently ranks among the top cities in the United States, and when you visit, the reasons are right in front of you.
From its abundant arts and culture scene to its singular architecture, Santa Fe is an enchanting city that inspires visitors with its colors and flavors. Whether you and your loved one are looking for a relaxing spa trip or an outdoorsy adventure, Santa Fe will not disappoint.
Santa Fe’s nickname is “The City Different” and you can be assured that visiting New Mexico’s capital will be different from any other trip you’ve ever taken. The pueblo-style architecture and its worldly cuisine will only add to the romantic atmosphere for your special trip here.
Chris Soules traveled to Santa Fe on Season 19 of “The Bachelor,” and here’s how you can experience the city just like him!
Arrival
When you arrive in Santa Fe, you’ll surely want to make the most of your time there and stay at a hotel that embodies the city’s spirit. We recommend Hilton Buffalo Thunder, situated just minutes outside of downtown Santa Fe with sweeping views of the magnificent mountains. Whether you want to spend the day golfing, relaxing by the pool, or exploring the city, you’ll have all of that at your fingertips if you stay at Hilton Buffalo Thunder.
Now it’s time to hand your loved one a date card and get moving!
One-on-One Date: Know Your Love
Aside from all of its cultural, historic, and culinary assets, Santa Fe is also a deeply spiritual city. While you’re here, you and your date can soak up The City Different by doing something you may not have ever done before: visiting a love and intimacy mentor.
Chris and his date met with Tziporah Kingsbury, an expert and educator on relationships and connections. Making an appointment with Tziporah is up to you and your date, but nonetheless use your time together to discuss how your own relationship can flourish.
Continue that conversation over a candlelit dinner at Bishop’s Lodge, where you can discuss your bond with each other and how you see that growing. After all of this, hand your date a rose and make a toast to your future!
Group Date: Rapidly Falling in Love
New Mexico boasts plenty of outdoor activities, including whitewater rafting. Take your lessons from your intimacy and relationship session and bring them with you for this adrenaline-boosting exercise. You and your date will get to explore Santa Fe and the Rio Grande all while participating in a fun and daring day out.
You might be exhausted — and hungry! — from your day out on the water. Take it easy and book a table at Red Sage, one of Hilton Buffalo Thunder’s restaurants. From filet mignon on the grill to scallops with cauliflower rice, you can’t go wrong.
After a day on the water, you’ll surely be riding the waves of love.
One-on-One Date: Love as High as the Sky
Fun fact: New Mexico hosts the world’s largest hot air balloon festival. The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta attracts over 866,000 people per year and has nearly 600 balloons and 671 pilots from around the globe. If you and your date travel to Santa Fe for the Fiesta, which occurs in October, visiting the balloons is a MUST.
Even if you don’t make it to the festival, you and your date can still travel sky-high in a hot air balloon. Use the opportunity to get away from all the stresses back down on the ground and instead connect with each other on a higher level. How many of your friends can say they’ve kissed in a hot air balloon a few hundred feet above ground?
New Mexico is lovingly known as the Land of Enchantment, so with that and The City Different, you and your date are bound to experience a couples getaway unlike any other trip.
