Kaitlyn Bristowe Is Hoping to 'Have a Baby' with Jason Tartick in 2021
Oh, baby! Kaitlyn Bristowe revealed in a recent interview that one of her New Year’s resolutions is to focus on her overall well-being so that she feels prepared to welcome a bundle of joy with her boyfriend, Jason Tartick, in 2021.
“I want to feel strong to have a baby,” the former Bachelorette told Us Weekly on December 31. “I want to go into the new year with a healthy mindset. 2020 has taught us to pivot and to overcome a lot and to just have a good perspective on things.”
Kaitlyn continued, “So I think a New Year’s resolution for me would just be really mentally and physically working on myself to feel strong, to overcome anything that comes my way in 2021.”
Jason, who spoke with the publication as well, said that he is also paying attention to his mental health as the world bids farewell to such a trying year as 2020, marked by the coronavirus pandemic and sociopolitical unrest.
“I think we always think New Year’s Eve [is] physical, like, what kind of weight are we doing? How are we working out? What’s our body fat? And for me, I think, I really want to focus on the mental health,” the “Bachelorette” alum explained. “When you’ve got your health, you’ve got it all.”
The couple’s remarks come just days after testing positive for COVID-19. “I’m scared. I’m upset and I’m frustrated. I’m doing all these what ifs and I’m spiraling, and I feel really, really anxious today,” Kaitlyn said via Instagram, not long after sharing her diagnosis on Christmas Eve. “I hate when things are unpredictable, and COVID is definitely unpredictable.”
On December 28, Jason wrote on Instagram that he and Kaitlyn had made it past the apex of symptoms — and revealed how their adorable pair of golden retrievers helped them feel better as they fought the virus. “It’s incredible how dogs know when their owners are off,” the banker captioned a photo of himself and Kaitlyn snuggled up in bed with their canine companions. “Big thank you to our caretakers Ramen & Pinot. I think the worst is behind us!”
Earlier that month, Kaitlyn opened up about how the ongoing health crisis has made her and Jason lean into the idea of having babies before tying the knot. (The pair — who have been dating for nearly two years — have yet to get engaged.)
“I don’t know when, but I know that we’re both so excited to [start a family]. Jason’s a little more of the traditional type, where he’s like, ‘Well, we have to get married first.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, no, we actually don’t,’” Kaitlyn said on the “HollywoodLife” podcast. “But we’re in a pandemic, so we haven’t even thought about a wedding because we’re the type of people that want everybody that means something to us there. So, baby talk has definitely come before wedding talk.”
