Heather Martin Makes Surprising Return to 'The Bachelor' for a Shot with Matt James
She’s back! Two years after competing for Colton Underwood’s heart on Season 23 of “The Bachelor,” Heather Martin is making a shocking return to the show for a shot with current lead Matt James.
ABC teased her arrival in a trailer for upcoming episodes that aired following Monday night’s landmark 25th season premiere of “The Bachelor.”
“Heather, what are you doing here?” host Chris Harrison asks her in the clip. “You could honestly destroy this whole thing for Matt.”
Despite Chris’ deterrence, Heather ventures forth into Farmington, Pennsylvania’s Nemacolin Woodlands Resort to see if she and Matt might be a match. “I feel like I’m in a dream right now,” says the handsome commercial real estate broker, clearly surprised to see Heather.
As seen in the sneak peek, a group of additional contestants enter the fray as the season continues — but it’s Heather’s presence that seems to really ruffle feathers among Matt’s group of women.
“You already had your f--king shot at ‘The Bachelor,’ like, go home,” one hopeful is heard saying.
Elsewhere, Heather tells the camera that she is willing to fight for Matt’s affections no matter how difficult it may be to do so. “This is like an impossible situation,” she says through tears. “Still, like, I do feel like Matt’s worth it.”
Though it’s unclear whether Heather and Matt have met before, they share a mutual friend in former Bachelorette Hannah Brown. Hannah and Heather bonded while filming 2019’s Season 23 of “The Bachelor.” Hannah then became close with Matt after quarantining with him for several weeks at Tyler Cameron’s Florida home in March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
(Matt and Tyler — Hannah’s Season 15 runner-up — have been best friends for years, having met in college before they both moved to New York City.)
Watch Heather crash Matt’s season in the preview below. “The Bachelor” airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m.
