Mike Johnson & Bryan Abasolo Reveal Dream Guests for Their New 'Talking It Out' Podcast
It’s only been one day since Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo launched their new Bachelor Nation podcast, “Talking It Out,” but the co-hosts are already thinking of their dream guests.
After welcoming New York Times best-selling author Emmanuel Acho onto Monday’s inaugural episode for a wide-ranging conversation, Mike and Bryan tell BachelorNation.com who they’re hoping to book in the future.
“My dream guests for ‘Talking It Out’ are Kanye West and Jay-Z because their business acumen is incredibly motivating,” Mike says. “I’d love to ask how they learned to follow their thoughts and forgo those of others.”
According to the U.S. military veteran — who competed for Hannah Brown’s heart on Season 15 of “The Bachelorette” before appearing on “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 6 in 2019 — he already has a list of questions prepared for the hip-hop superstars.
“Did Kanye’s mother’s passing have something to do with his bravado and brash demeanor? I’d ask Jay-Z, ‘Did you ever feel you weren’t ‘knowledgeable’ enough to run multiple successful businesses?’”
In the spirit of “Talking It Out” — which explores unconventional viewpoints about life, love, family, relationships, and an array of taboo topics — Mike would also like to dig into Jay-Z’s headline-making marriage with Beyoncé.
“I’d also ask Jay-Z about his alleged infidelity with Beyoncé. I’d ask from the male perspective, what he wishes people would pay attention to in a relationship, and quite honestly, how did he win her trust back?” says the “Making the Love You Want” author. “I’d end the conversation with showering [both Jay-Z and Kanye] with praise on being fathers, Black fathers, married, and insisting on making it all work while balancing their businesses.”
For his part, Bryan — who met and fell in love with wife Rachel Lindsay on “The Bachelorette” Season 13 in 2017 — is hoping he and Mike can get some two-on-one time with Dave Chappelle.
“My dream guest for ‘Talking It Out’ is Dave Chappelle because he is not only one of the funniest people on the planet and my favorite comedian, but I also think he’s one of the more intriguing and interesting celebrities out there,” the Miami-based chiropractor tells BachelorNation.com.
“His storytelling is second to none and he is honest about the things we think and don’t say. He just says what most people are afraid to say, especially in today’s cancel culture, where jokes and certain stances are frowned upon,” Bryan adds. “His thoughts push the envelope and probably make you feel uncomfortable, but they will also make you think outside the box.”
