Carly Waddell Shares Sweet Story About Daughter Bella Teaching Her to Practice Self-Love
A big lesson from her little one! Carly Waddell — who shares daughter Bella, 2, and son Charlie, 14 months, with ex Evan Bass — took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a sweet story about how her eldest child reminded her to practice self-love.
“I was hugging Bella and Charlie yesterday saying ‘I love you Bella!’ ‘I love you Charlie!’ And Bella says ‘mommy, say I love myself!’” the beloved Bachelor Nation star wrote alongside a photo of herself posing outside in a casual pink ensemble.
“So today I did [something] I haven’t done in a while [and] took some self care ‘I love myself’ time. I washed my hair, put on my favorite color, went out world, and ended up at a park to take a walk, and I took a photo to document it,” she continued. “I think sometimes we forget self care is suuuuuuper important. Even just putting on my favorite color can brighten my day. I wear pink all the time now. Do y’all have a favorite color that brings you joy?”

Carly’s touching post comes one week after the singer revealed plans to return to the recording studio this year as she heals from her split with Evan. (The Nashville, Tennessee-based pair — who met on “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 3 and later wed in 2017 — announced their separation in December.)
“Took some time today to finally write down my 2021 goals. Whenever I write something down I feel like I have more accountability to actually make things happen,” the “Bachelor” Season 19 alum wrote via Instagram on January 6. “Do y’all feel that way? ONE of my goals which I’m SUPER excited about is NEW MUSIC!”
The musician — who released her “Dream Train” EP in 2019 — added, “And that one is actually in the works so we are starting out right!”
On December 14, Carly explained in another post how she temporarily lost sight of her passion for music.
“Hey guys! It feels like a haven’t sang for you in years!!! Some of you don’t even know I’ve been professionally singing since I was in middle school!” she wrote, noting how her singing aspirations took a backseat over the last few years, during which motherhood has taken most of her focus.
“Well, I guess I sorta lost myself in motherhood, and while that is the most amazing gift, I sorta forgot my own self,” she continued. “I just want you guys to know I’m going to be singing more, and sharing that part of my soul with you again! I’ve missed it so much!”
