'The Challenge' Star Aneesa Ferreira Stops by 'Click Bait' to Discuss Her Wild Ride on Reality TV
Aneesa Ferreira — who rose to fame in the early 2000s thanks to her role on MTV’s “The Real World: Chicago” — stopped by “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” to chat about her wild ride on reality TV with co-hosts Tayshia Adams, Joe Amabile, and Natasha Parker.
“It got really bizarre because I couldn’t walk a block without somebody being like, ‘Oh my God, you should have beat her ass. You should have done this.’ And my mom was like, ‘Oh my God, you’re embarrassing us,’” Aneesa recalled. “I was like, ‘Look, I’m 20. This isn’t for you.’”
After Aneesa’s stint on “The Real World” wrapped in 2002, she appeared on a multitude of MTV spinoffs, including several iterations of the network’s long-running competition series “The Challenge.” The outspoken Pennsylvania native most recently starred on its 36th season, titled “The Challenge: Double Agents,” which was filmed in Iceland during the fall of 2020.
When she first entered the word of unscripted television, Aneesa never anticipated how deeply the genre would eventually penetrate pop culture.
“I don’t think anyone knew that reality TV was going to blow up and then just come into our lives at every angle between ‘My 600-Lb. Life,’ ‘Intervention,’ and ‘Housewives,’” she said. “Like, all these things where we’re going to see all these people who are super relatable, who were probably never going to be on TV otherwise. Like, we just jumped on there and now you have a million new best friends in your mind.”
