Hannah Godwin's Mom Explains Why Dylan Barbour Is the 'Perfect Person' for Her Daughter to Marry
He’s mom-approved! Hannah Godwin’s mother, Beth, recently explained why she believes Dylan Barbour is The One for her daughter.
In a new YouTube video, Hannah does her mom’s makeup as the two chat about everything from childhood memories to the heartbreak of living on opposite sides of the country. Naturally, Hannah’s fiancé, Dylan — whom she fell in love with and got engaged to during 2019’s “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 6 — also came up.
According to Beth, she was initially “very upset” upon learning that her daughter accepted a proposal on the beaches of Sayulita, Mexico. “At first, before I met him, I thought that [Hannah] was under a spell and [she was] too young and [she] was not ready for this,” Beth said.
However, that all changed when Dylan eventually came to visit Beth and Hannah in their hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.
“When he came to our home, I remember I was in my living room and I saw them drive up after the whole fiasco,” Beth recounted. “And I was like, ‘Oh my God. What am I gonna do? What am I gonna do? This is really important. I don’t wanna mess things up for Hannah, but I want to protect her.’”
She added, “It was very, very, very stressful. And then I met him. For the first 12 minutes or so, it was just awk. And then the next thing I know, he was my BFF.”
Hannah described the moment as “beautiful,” revealing that Dylan and Beth were even “cuddling on the couch.”
Beth went on to express her gratitude at Dylan coming into Hannah’s life. Though the spouses-to-be have yet to set a wedding date, they purchased a home together in Dylan’s native San Diego, California, in the fall of 2020.

“I adore him,” Beth gushed. “And I honestly think that there is somebody in the world for everyone and I think that he is the perfect person and I just love him. I love his family, his mom, and his brother. They’re just so special and I feel very blessed, like beyond blessed. I’m so glad they’re part of [Hannah’s] support system, part of my support system.”
The proud parent continued, “The thing is, when you throw two families together like that who don’t have a history, it can go very, very bad. And it has been just a pleasure and so much fun getting to know them.”
Beth also noted the respect and kindness she sees consistently shared between Dylan and Hannah.
“One thing I told Hannah just this morning, the way they speak to each other, they’re just so kind to each other and you can tell this is not a planned situation. It’s just how they get along with each other,” she said. “It’s so beautiful. They’re both very thoughtful people and they love to take care of each other. Some people go through their whole life and they never have that. So, I’m so glad for [Hannah].”
Hannah agreed. “We’ve been very lucky in that we’re both very similar in a lot of senses in the way we approach things and listen and just kind of act. It works,” said the blonde beauty. “Dylan, you rock.”
Beth summed it up best, though, when she said, “Y’all are very peanut butter and jelly.”
