Carly Waddell Opens Up About Having More Kids One Day via Surrogacy and Adoption
She’s keeping it real. Following her split from husband Evan Bass, Carly Waddell revealed in a new YouTube video how she feels about having more kids one day. The Bachelor Nation stars share daughter Bella, 2, and son Charlie, 13 months.
“The answer is I guess I don’t know,” Carly said. “Do I personally want to do that to my body again? I’m 35, so thinking about my body doing that again? Because it wouldn’t be now. Could I push out another baby? Probably. Could I push out a baby in another three to five years? I don’t think I want to do that.”
However, the “Mommies Tell All” podcast co-host said that she would consider other ways to expand her brood. “Does that mean I’m open to adoption? Absolutely,” she continued. “If that’s something that someone who is my partner and I thought about, then yes.”
Carly then divulged that she would also be open to the idea of surrogacy, as she has “some eggs frozen.” She elaborated, “I don’t know if I personally want to have the baby. I don’t know the answer.”
The singer also expressed her thoughts on the possibility of getting married again in the future. “There were a couple days where I was like, ‘Why do people get married?’ Especially because divorces suck. When I started doing all the divorce stuff, I was like, ‘This sucks! Why would anyone ever want to get married?’” she recounted. “But I do think that there is something really special about that bond when that vow is taken to heart and actually put to good use. There is something special in that.”
Still, Carly is in no hurry to jump back into the dating pool. “I hate dating. Dating is, to me, the worst. I was so excited to be done with it. And then thinking about doing it again, am I excited about it? Absolutely not! I’m terrified. How do you even do it? I don’t even know anymore. We live in a pandemic,” she lamented, noting the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. “I don’t even know what that would look like. I don’t even know when I would invite that into my life.”
Carly and Evan announced on December 23 that they were splitting up following a three-year union.
“We have made the difficult decision to separate,” they wrote in a joint statement. “We will always cherish our time together and continue to have the utmost respect for one another as we focus on what’s best for the future of our family. We greatly appreciate everyone’s love and support and kindly ask that you please respect our family’s privacy as we navigate through this.”
The Nashville, Tennessee-based pair met on Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise” and continued an on-again, off-again relationship over the course of the season. They eventually got engaged and later tied the knot June 17, 2017, in Sayulita, Mexico, during a wedding ceremony officiated by Chris Harrison, which later aired on Season 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
“Our divorce is not final. I made a commitment. And even though the divorce proceedings are happening, I would never date anybody before that divorce was final,” Carly explained in her YouTube video. “Because, to me, I’m still married until it says that I’m not married. And maybe that’s to my detriment. I don’t know, but that’s how I feel.”
