This Week in Bachelor Nation History: Peter Weber Suffers 'Freak Accident' Requiring 22 Forehead Stitches
Ouch! This week marks one year since Peter Weber suffered a “freak accident” on Season 24 of “The Bachelor” while filming the show in Costa Rica.
Before a group date, the handsome lead greeted his contestants with a large bandage on his forehead. After the women expressed concern for Peter because of his apparent injury, he facetiously claimed to have gotten hurt while fighting a wild puma.
“Crazy, crazy story,” he began. “It’s a rough start to Costa Rica. Well, I was doing a little exploring and I noticed this volcano. So, I found a trail to take me up to the top. As I was walking, a puma crosses my path and immediately I just lock eyes with it.”
Peter continued, “And my animal instinct took over and I just did what had to be done. What else am I gonna do? I’m by myself. You think this is bad? You should see him right now.”
The commercial pilot then told the “actual story” of how he ended up with the wound.
“When you hear what happened, it’s ridiculous. It’s bad, though,” he said with a laugh. “I was walking out of the lobby yesterday and this is the true story. There was a golf cart, and I ran into the golf cart. I had a glass in my hand. As I hit my head, I then shattered the glass in my head. It just sounds ridiculous. Like, I freakin’ stabbed myself in the head.”
Peter went on to say that he visited a local hospital in Costa Rica, where he received 22 stitches. “I will never forget this experience, ever. For the rest of my life, I will be reminded of this,” he said, anticipating a permanent scar. “It’s a little embarrassing. It was a freakin’ golf cart.”
