Lauren Burnham Introduces Bachelor Nation to Her Sweet 'Puppy Son'
It was just weeks ago that Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham fostered a pregnant Yorkie and then unexpectedly delivered her puppies moments after welcoming her into their Scottsdale, Arizona, home. Now, it appears as though Lauren has grown close to one pup in particular.
She took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday night to share a sweet video of herself cuddled in bed with her tiny canine companion. “This is 100% my puppy son,” she wrote alongside the clip, adding that she is in the process of convincing her husband that they should keep him. “Still working on @ariejr buttttt.”
The blonde beauty then asked Bachelor Nation for name suggestions and uploaded more videos of the puppy nestled in between the couple’s arms.
Lauren and Arie — who met and fell in love on Season 22 of "The Bachelor" in 2018 and celebrated their second wedding anniversary on January 12 — are still looking after the mama Yorkie, who they have since named Kitty. In the pair’s original YouTube video detailing the birth of Kitty’s five puppies, Lauren explained that the December death of Arie’s dog Bastian made them consider adopting again.
“There’s just been this void in our house since he’s been gone,” she said. “It’s sad and we miss him, but we just feel like we’re ready for another dog in our lives.”
The Shades of Rose founder, who is currently pregnant and expecting twins, previously said that she and Arie don’t want to make a “long-term commitment” before their babies arrive this summer. But this special little pooch of Kitty’s just might make Arie and Lauren — who are already parents to daughter Alessi, 20 months — think otherwise.
